Registration open for the 18th walk La Granada – Montserrat on foot

Next Saturday, October 23, 2021, the XVIII walk will take place from La Granada to Montserrat. In this edition in reduced format only residents of Granada can register. The price for everyone is 20€ and includes refreshment with soft drink, fruit, nuts, hot drink, lunch, a gift and the return by coach from the Monastery.

To make the registration effective after filling out the form you must make a transfer and indicate the concept: NAME SURNAME WALK to the account number ES97 0081 1657 7800 0101 4709.

Remember that registrations are limited and that you have time to sign up for the hike until October 11th.

* Payment only by transfer.
* In case of cancellation, the money will NOT be refunded.
* It is necessary to bring: mask, breakfast, canteen with water and a glass for the provisioning posts, in order to avoid waste.

The time for accreditations is at 5:30 a.m. in the civic center of Granada, and the departure time at 6 a.m.; it is expected to arrive in Montserrat about 5:30 p.m. The arrival will be celebrated with a snack.

The return will be done by bus from the Monastery of Montserrat to the Civic Center of Granada. Therefore, it is important to notify the registration in case you do NOT return with the bus.

The distance to travel is approximately 40km. It is expected to last 11.5 hours (stops included), at a rate of about 4 km/h. Along the route there will be 3 stops, already preset to rest and recover strength.

The organization does not take care of any injury that may be suffered during the walk, it is only responsible for taking you on the right track. Participation is voluntary. The organization has the power, if necessary, to recommend abandoning the walk to those people who hinder the rhythm of the group.

– Guidelines to take into account:
1. An adequate degree of previous training is necessary in order to avoid intense fatigue and joint pain.
2. During the walk there may be climatic changes: heat, cold, rain, wind.. Suitable clothing (Hat, waterproof, polar lining) and suitable and tested footwear is required.
3. It is necessary to protect the feet to avoid rubbing and the formation of blisters, sores, etc.
4. As well as a good diet, good hydration is very important.
5. The backpack should not be excessively loaded. Its total weight should not exceed 10% of our weight.
